Our client, based in the Stellenbosch area, has the abovementioned position available in their packhouse for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual that has strong interpersonal skills, demonstrates creative problem-solving skills, and is comfortable providing leadership on quality assurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all quality and compliance processes, including: *quality assurance on all farms, farm to packhouse and in packhouse till dispatched *assist in setting quality policies, practices and standards and ensure production is maintained at such standards *investigation of complaints & quality deviations *reporting, planning and establishment of corrective steps regarding defects *monitor and evaluate temperature deviations *continuous quality checks on fruit on arrival, during packing process, and prior to loading *management of DIPAR Quality System *personnel management *build strong working relationships with farm managers and assist and advise on quality of fruit *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Relevant tertiary qualification (Food technology or related discipline); • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in the soft fruit industry; • Excellent understanding of Food Safety Principles; • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English); • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel); • Own car and valid license.
