Our client, a mechanical manufacturing company in Stellenbosch, has an exciting career opportunity for a Production Manager with excellent mathematical and mechanical ability. The ideal candidate is a reliable, dynamic, independent individual with outstanding interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English), and can motivate and mobilise a team. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *planning and executing of all production related activities (including overall purchasing and stock control) *staff management *mechanical/technical advice to the production team *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Matric with minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment, of which at least 2 years in a supervisory role; OR • A tertiary qualification or trade in a mechanical discipline with +-3 years’ experience in a similar role; • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings; • Strong computer skills [MS Office, specifically Excel & Access]; • Valid driver's license and own transport; • Insight regarding the mechanics of vehicles, specifically trailers will be a strong advantage; • Insight regarding financial management/cash flow management pertaining to production; • Good overview knowledge of the entire product supply process.
