Our client, situated in the beautiful Stellenbosch/Somerset West area, has an opportunity available for a mature, dynamic, and service-orientated Winemaker with the ability to lead a team in a services-cellar. The wine-making process will be on behalf of external wine farmers/winemakers, and made according to clients' specifications. The Winemaker will be responsible for (but not limited to): *the full wine preparation process *fermentation *blending and stabilisation of wines *managing quality control systems *preparation for bottling *warehouse management *cellar staff management *cellar/stock administration (including preparation of SARS excise accounts and administration related to SAWIS) *management of operating systems (IPW, WIETA) *marketing initiatives *establishment of good customer relationships. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Diploma/Degree in Viticulture and Oenology; • At least 5 years’ relevant experience; • Driver’s license and own reliable transport; • Excellent computer proficiency; • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English); • Proficiency in WineMS and a forklift license will be to the candidate's advantage.
