PlantSA, situated in Paarl, currently has the following position available: TECHNICAL ASSISTANT This position is ideal for someone that has a good pomological background, is hardworking and eager to learn, and has strong analytical skills. The successful candidate, under guidance of the manager, will primarily focus on the internal audit function. Other responsibilities will include the verification of information on the Plant SA database as well as client service management. The AUDIT FUNCTION includes auditing of: • virus test results / laboratories; • PIO facilities and clones; • Nurseries; and • Inspection services. The VERIFICATION OF INFORMATION includes: • Registration of new sites; • Updating of a complete list of cultivars; • Verifying clone- and block register data; • Processing of issuances and returns. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • BSc degree or equivalent tertiary qualification (NQF 7); • At least 3 years’ practical work experience in horticulture and/or viticulture; • Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook. • Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written); • Driver’s license and own transport In return for your contribution, Plant SA offers market-related remuneration.
