PlantSA, situated in Paarl, is seeking the services of a Technical Assistant. The company offers management and administrative services in support of plant improvement and certification to the viticulture and deciduous fruit industries. The Technical Assistant, under guidance of the manager, will primarily focus on the internal audit function. However, the position includes the maintenance of the database as well as client service. The AUDIT FUNCTION includes auditing of: • virus test results; • PIO facilities and clones; • Nurseries: and • Inspection services. The DATABASE MAINTENANCE includes: • Registration of new sites; • Updating of a complete list of cultivars; • Maintenance of clone- and block registers; • Processing of issuances and returns. Preferred requirements: • BSc degree or equivalent tertiary qualification (NQF 7); • At least 3 years’ practical experience in a similar role; • Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
