Systems Administrator/Developer Robertson Winery is based in the Breede River Valley in the town of Robertson and is seeking to employ the services of an onsite IT System Administrator/Developer to manage their IT information systems. The position will initially entail mainly systems administration and support with a remit to expand into development as the position establishes itself. The ideal candidate is someone who has excellent hands-on technical and interpersonal skills with the following attributes: the ability to communicate on all levels in a non-technical manner, and an organised self-starter, who has a passion for end user support and implementing/maintaining best practices. A relevant IT degree or similar qualification, as well as 3 – 5 year’s experience in hardware/IT infrastructure in a Windows and LAN environment is required. The following will be to the applicant’s advantage: CompTIA A+ technical certification, MCSE certifications, experience of SQL, experience/exposure to the Syspro ERP platform and vbscripting, knowledge regarding internal PBX and VOIP telephone systems, video conferencing and teleconferencing equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for the following: * Provide end user support * Ownership of core corporate infrastructure * Monitor system health and performance * Configure and deploy new hardware * Handling of backups and disaster recovery simulations * Manage Microsoft server disaster recovery operations * Identify opportunities to optimally utilise systems * Cybersecurity best practices * Operational documentation * Ensure security of data and network access * Develop data views and reports * Develop Syspro environment and forms * Other ad hoc duties related to this position.
