The succesfull candidate is a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can work accurate and under pressure and have sound analytical, numerical and financial skills. A relevant accounting qualification (B.Com), minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, computer literacy (Pastel, Excel and VIP), experience dealing with SARS and working knowledge of the Income Tax and VAT Acts are further prerequisites. This succesfull candidate will work closely with the Financial Manager and will be responsible for the full accounting function. Duties include the following: * preparation of monthly management accounts, accruals, provisions and journals * producing monthly trial balances * maintaining Balance Sheet schedules * preparation of annual audit files * assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements * issuing of invoices * assisting with the preparation of payment requisitions * monthly bank and other reconciliations * maintaining the Fixed Asset register * calculation, preparation and submission of Income Tax,VAT and other statutory returns * dealing with all SARS related tax queries * general assistance with office management and liaison with suppliers * review of creditors reconciliations * monthly payroll on VIP * general assistance to the Financial Manager.
