Our client, situated in Stellenbosch, has a vacancy for a General Manager/Winemaker The suitable candidate will be responsible for the total vinification and administrative tasks and will report to the shareholders. This position will suit a self-motivated, energetic, creative, hands-on person who is willing to take on a challenging position in a new winery that forms part of an established international wine company. To be considered you will need a relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, which must include a minimum of five or more local and three international harvests in cellars that focus on premium wines. Responsibilities will include: • General management of the estate • Total vinification responsibility • Cellar and barrel administration • Assisting with marketing and presenting tastings • Full responsibility of the cellar in addition to the management of the estate as well as the 12 ha of vines • Managing quality systems (IPW, SAWIS, etc.) In exchange for your contribution, our client offers a market-related remuneration package.
