The above position is a challenging executive career opportunity for a skilled communicator with a distinct flair for pro-active sales and marketing, excellent interpersonal relations, an in-depth understanding of financial management as well as the ability to work under pressure in an organized and structured manner. The successful candidate is a skilled strategist with a relevant tertiary qualifi cation and at least five years’ business management experience.

A proven track record in wine business management, a thorough understanding of the dynamics of international marketing and regulatory environments as well as experience at board level would further count in the applicants favour.

The Managing Director reports to the Chairman of the Board and will be responsible for the following: • Executing and directing the Company’s overall strategy towards the profitable growth of the Company • Developing and executing operational plans in line with the medium and long-term objectives and priorities established by the Board • Aligning departmental goals with the Company’s overall strategies (KPIs/KPAs, etc.) • Monitoring operational and financial control systems • Monitoring the Company’s operational and financial results against plans and budgets • Ensuring an effective and efficient organisational structure and productive culture, supported by appropriate tools and resources • Building and maintaining an effective executive team • Representing the Company to major customers, suppliers, industry bodies and other stakeholders • Ensuring compliance with the Company’s legal, social and governance obligations.
