uniWines Vineyards, with their head office located in the picturesque Breedekloof Wine Valley, has the following position available IT Technician A vacancy needs to be filled to perform IT systems administration for an established wine cellar group. The successful candidate will be working under limited supervision from, and report to, the Head: Production and Facilities – ie. the role needs someone who can take the lead. REQUIREMENTS: • IT qualification is recommended • Minimum 2 years' experience working on a MS Windows-based network • Advanced knowledge of IPv4 networking • Minimum 1 year experience maintaining an IPv4 network (DHCP, DNS, VLAN etc) • Broad knowledge of the following devices, services and technologies : o Database servers (MySQL) o Project management o Continuous integration o Version control systems o Document management systems o Firewalling o Server monitoring o Asset tracking o Wired and wireless routers o VoIP server and telephones o Network file share devices • Ability to learn quickly • Accept responsibility to finish an assigned task with great care and quality • Ability to debug a given problem, identify and implement a solution with regards to IT systems administration RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Supporting employee workstation hardware and software • Supporting network device hardware and software • Debugging hardware and software issues • Sourcing hardware components for resell and own use • Maintaining office network (from cabling to routing) • Ensuring server software is up to date • Ensuring IT policies are adhered to • Keeping IT documentation up to date • Liaising with Administration department as needed • Outsourced support services • Setting up a team of experts BONUS SKILLS: • Web-page design and management • App development & implementation • Software tailoring In return for your contribution, uniWines Vineyards is willing to offer a market related salary package.
