Our client, a global wine business in Stellenbosch, with a portfolio of respected brands and a strong local and international presence, is seeking an experienced Group Viticulturist: External Vineyards to lead external vineyard sourcing and grower partnerships.

This senior role combines viticulture, commercial negotiation, and quality assurance to secure high-quality grapes and bulk wine supports the group’s winemaking programme and business strategy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Contract new and existing grape and bulk wine supply agreements annually *Negotiate annual grape pricing with producers *Lead third-party bulk wine sourcing *Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, providing regular feedback on grape performance *Coordinate harvest scheduling and grape intake planning for accurate forecasting *Monitor ripeness during harvest to support quality control and timely decisions *Maintain accurate production, cost, producer and traceability records *Support compliance with sustainability standards (IPW, WIETA, BSCI) in line with ASA's ESG goals *Participate in the CAV forum *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• BSc Agric in Viticulture & Oenology;

• Approximately 5-7 years' experience in a similar role;

• Strong knowledge of local and international viticulture practices;

• Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills;

• Hands-on, field-based approach with producers;

• Good financial acumen;

• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
