Origin Wine, located in Stellenbosch, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage the strategic and operational activities of the Quality Control and Quality Management function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the organisation’s quality management systems, ensuring compliance with BRC, IFS and IPW certification requirements, while supporting product development, laboratory activities, production processes and people management.

KPA’s will include (but not be limited to): *Manage and maintain Quality Control and Assurance systems, standards and processes *Ensure compliance and certification requirements for BRC, IFS and IPW are maintained *Coordinate internal, surveillance and re-certification audits *Monitor quality standards, testing procedures, customer complaints and corrective actions *Oversee the site Quality Management System (QMS), including work instructions and SOP’s *Support new product development, laboratory activities and wine-making and bottling innovations *Liaise with suppliers regarding raw materials, products, technologies and developments *Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and quality processes *Lead, develop and manage QC and laboratory staff, including performance management and training *Ensure compliance with OHS, hygiene, housekeeping and safety requirements *Collaborate with production, management and compliance teams to resolve quality and operational matters.

Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent;

• Relevant Chemistry Degree/Diploma, or qualification in Wine Making, Food Technology or Food Science;

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Quality Assurance / Quality Management position;

• Experience within the wine, food manufacturing or related industry will be advantageous;

• Strong management and people-management skills;

• Strategic understanding of wine-making processes and the wine industry;

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;

• Knowledge of product development techniques;

• Thorough understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices;

• Strong knowledge of BRC, IFS and IPW certification requirements and principles;

• Excellent communication and organisational skills;

• Ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on and operational.
