Our client, Bestpak, based in Vredendal, is recruiting for a skilled and experienced Machinery Electrician seeking an exciting career opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A qualified Millwright with strong electrical expertise will also be considered.

The successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the following: *Safety & Compliance: Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and company policies; Perform routine safety and equipment checks; Ensure correct use of PPE at all times; Identify and report risks and unsafe conditions; Maintain high housekeeping standards. *Electrical Maintenance & Equipment: Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance on production machinery; Diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems to minimise downtime; Maintain and repair control panels, wiring, PLC-related systems, and instrumentation; Support optimal equipment efficiency (OEE) through proactive maintenance; Conduct condition monitoring to ensure equipment reliability and compliance. *Mechanical Support: Assist with basic mechanical maintenance and repairs when required; Work with components such as gearboxes and compressors; Contribute to equipment improvements and cost-effective repairs.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Matric with relevant experience OR Trade Tested Electrician (Machinery/Industrial);

• Millwright qualification with strong electrical focus will be advantageous;

• Proven experience in plant maintenance within a manufacturing environment;

• Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability on production equipment;

• Experience with electrical panels, control systems, and machine wiring;

• Basic mechanical knowledge (gearboxes, compressors, general machinery);

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings;

• Knowledge of lubrication systems and general engineering practices;

• Sound understanding of OHS and safety standards;

• Strong communication and teamwork skills;

• Willingness to work shifts, standby, and respond to call-outs;

• Reliable own transport.
