Our client, a well-established business in the manufacturing and construction industry based in Philippi (Cape Town), has a vacancy for a Construction Surveyor to join their team.
The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills and can collaborate effectively with others. This role requires someone technically proficient, highly accurate in their measurements, and confident providing reliable data and guidance across projects.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to): *Conduct site surveys to establish reference points, levels, and boundaries *Use GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment to collect and verify data *Interpret measurements and prepare reports, drawings, and survey data *Ensure construction activities align with approved plans and specifications *Monitor site progress and update survey information as required *Ensure compliance with zoning laws, building codes, and safety regulations *Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction managers *Carry out site testing where required (DCP, MODS, Troxler, etc.) *Identify and communicate potential site issues and recommend solutions *All other tasks related to the role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics or a related field;
• 5-8 years’ proven site experience as a Surveyor;
• Experience carrying out on site testing (DCP, MODS, Troxler, etc.);
• Proficient in surveying equipment, GPS systems, and CAD software;
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills;
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport;
• Willing to travel between sites regularly.
