Bergendal Rooibos, situated in Citrusdal, is an established player in the rooibos industry and specialises in the production, processing, packaging, and export of high-quality rooibos tea. Bergendal Rooibos has an excellent opportunity for a Packaging Technician with strong problem-solving skills to join their team.

The role will take responsibility for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of production and packaging machinery and ensure optimal efficiency of production and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): *General mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work *Ensuring optimal efficiency of production and packaging machinery through monitoring, fault-finding, maintenance, and adjustments *Limiting packaging material waste by ensuring production and packaging machinery operates optimally *Compiling and implementing an effective maintenance schedule for production and packaging machinery *Managing downtime of production and packaging machinery *Supporting with staff management within the department *Ensuring the work area is kept neat, that safe working procedures are followed, and that food safety standards are adhered to.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• At least 1 year experience in a similar role in an industrial, processing, or packaging environment;

• Strong practical and technical aptitude (mechanical & electrical);

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to liaise effectively with staff and departments;

• A relevant post-school qualification will be advantageous.
