Our client, a medium-sized plum farm near Stellenbosch, is seeking an experienced Packhouse Manager to oversee their packhouse operations, primarily focused on packing plums for the export market.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills and will be responsible for (but not be limited to): *Managing all cold-room facilities *Ensure that the packhouse complies with all fruit and export industry protocols and industry standards (such as BRC, FSMA, SIZA etc.) *Supervise and manage a staff complement of 185 employees during the season *Liaising with farm managers, suppliers, marketers and exporters *Determine packaging requirements and order accordingly *All other tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A relevant tertiary qualification;

• Minimum 5 years’ packhouse management experience;

• Knowledge of Vitrax system will be advantageous;

• Familiar with 4-lane pack line with optical sorter;

• Proven track record in all aspects of packhouse management (fruit intake to containerization);

• Basic mechanical knowledge;

• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);

• Valid driver's license.
