Our client, situated in Paarl, has an opportunity for a Bookkeeper to be part of their passionate team in a unique rural and peaceful environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual, with excellent accounting and numerical skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Accurately capture financial data *Process bank transactions and perform reconciliations *Manage petty cash administration and reconciliations *Assist with preparing financial statements and month-end closures *Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance *Prepare reports for management *Processing and sending invoices and statements *Processing of ledgers *Recording provisions journals for financial year-end *Providing financial information to auditors *Preparation (e-filing) of company taxes *All other tasks related to this position.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous;
• 5-8 years’ experience in a similar position;
• Excellent computer literacy (specifically MS Office and Pastel);
• Excellent knowledge of processing invoices, payroll, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns.
