Our client, a missions organisation based in Somerset West, is seeking an Junior Financial Manager to support their growing finance team. This role is key to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting donor accountability, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit standards.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, solid accounting expertise, and a proactive attitude in a mission-driven environment and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Maintain and reconcile cashbooks; manage petty cash and cashflow *Maintain and update the fixed asset register, process depreciation and asset journals *Process stock invoices and inventory journals *Reconcile debtors and creditors; prepare and send statements; process payments (including forex payments) *Submit VAT returns and related journals *Prepare monthly management packs and audit documentation *Provide year-end audit support to financial statements *Handle supplier and customer credit applications *Prepare sales reports, manage debtor insurance, and track return on investment (ROI) *Manage donor-restricted funding in line with reporting and compliance requirements *Process payroll and ensure IRP5 submissions are completed accurately and on time *Assist the Financial Manager with financial reports and other ad hoc duties *Support budgeting, forecasting, and donor reporting *Implement and improve accounting systems and processes *Maintain accurate financial documentation for audit readiness *Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies *All other tasks related to the role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline;
• 5+ years’ proven experience in a financial management or accounting role is essential;
• Experience working with Sage Intacct is highly advantageous;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software;
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport.
