Senior Electromechanical Technician/ Workshop Foreman CDS VINTEC, an established supplier of Packaging machinery (to the Beverage Filling Industry) and Processing equipment (to the Wine, Spirits & Craft Beer industries), have an opportunity for a SENIOR ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN/WORKSHOP FOREMAN. The position will be based in Paarl, but our service delivery area extends to include all traditional wine producing areas. Suitably experienced Millwrights are invited to apply. Qualifications & experience • Grade 12 or equivalent (N3) • N4 – N6 Mechanical/Electrical • At least 8 years’ experience working on electrically driven filling/packaging machines with electronic control gear (PLC) is required. Other competencies • Experience with the following equipment not required, but will strengthen the application; Grape de-stemmers & sorters, Presses, Filtration systems, Pumps, Final Presses & MCC processing • Good written and verbal communication skills • Computer literacy & the ability to interpret engineering (Mechanical & Electrical) diagrams • Good estimating, cost control and cost forecasting skills • Good planning & scheduling skills • Health & Safety management experience • Team management experience • Willingness to travel (including training at overseas suppliers) Job Description • Installation, commissioning, fault finding, maintenance & repairs of; o Beverage packaging/filling line equipment (Fillers, Capping machines, Labellers etc.) o Cellar, Craft Brewery & distillery processing equipment (Grape de-stemmers & sorters, Presses, Filtration systems, Pumps, Final Presses & MCC processing) • Technical liaison with foreign suppliers • Day-to-day management of workshop team. • Administration relating to the workshop & field services (Job cards etc.). • Assisting Technical Department with inventory management of spare parts. • Assisting Technical Department with workshop manufacture projects.
