Our client, a leading grower, packer, and exporter of fresh fruits in South Africa, has a Junior Production Manager position available on their farm just outside Swellendam.

The successful candidate has excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills, and will report to Farm Manager. KPI’s will include the following (but not limited to): *Production: Planting; schedule irrigation; apply fertilizer; pest control, plague and weed control; pruning; harvesting; monitoring and manipulations *Personnel and Administration: Labour planning and management; recordkeeping; plan transport and accommodation; maintenance (equipment/ orchards/general) *Financial Management: Cost control by focusing on productivity *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture;

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the cultivation of citrus and/or avocados;

• Knowledge of modern production practices;

• Specific knowledge and experience in irrigation practices will be advantageous;

• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel);

• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
