Our client, a leading grower, packer and exporter of fresh fruit, has the abovbementioned position available at their citrus and table grape farm, based in Clainwilliam. The main focus of the role is to manage all aspects of farm production and operations, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, and profitability.

The ideal candidate is a people-oriented leader with excellent communication skills, who values collaboration and has the ability to inspire teams. Furthermore, the incumbent is open to innovation, embraces technology, and is passionate about modern production practices.

Duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): *Production: Planting of citrus; Schedule irrigation, Apply fertilizer; Pest, plague and weed control; Pruning, harvesting and monitoring of manipulations *Personnel and Administration: *Labour planning and management; Recordkeeping; Plan transport and accomodation *Maintenence: Manage maintenence of equipment and orchards *Finance: Cost control by focussing on productivity *Any additional tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A relevant agricultural tertiary qualification;

• At least 4 years’ of relevant experience in the cultivation of citrus;

• Knowledge of modern production practices;

• Specific knowledge/experience in irrigation practices will be advantageous;

• Table grape production experience will be advantageous;

• Good computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel);

• Own reliable transport.
