Our client, Kromco (Pty) Ltd, one of South Africa's largest fruit-packing and marketing companies, near Grabouw, Western Cape, has the above-mentioned position available. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual, with sound technical knowledge of trucks, forklifts and other diesel vehicles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: *Ensure a planned maintenance schedule is always available *Ensure breakdowns are attended to with urgency *Ensure all maintenance is carried out according to procedures and vehicle requirements *Fleet management and implement controls to ensure sufficient spares are available *Conduct quality checks on repaired vehicles *Demonstrate leadership skills, motivation and conflict resolution *Ensure smooth transport coordination and effective performance management of subordinates *Ensure sound relations are maintained with internal and external customers *Take necessary precautions to control and safeguard company assets *Ensure that housekeeping is completed *Assist the direct manager by providing input into the budgeting process *Monitor costs by analysing cost allocations, identify discrepancies and implement cost saving strategies *All other tasks related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with 5 years’ post trade test experience;

• At least 3-5 years’ management and procurement experience;

• Computer literate (MS Office);

• Willingness to work extended hours;

• Medically fit to perform the duties as required;

• Valid driver’s license (Code EC with a valid PDP or Forklift licence will be preferred).
