Namaqua Wines has a position available for an organised and detail-oriented Chemical Analyst, with the ability to work accurately and according to structured requirements and procedures.

The position will be based at Vredendal Winery.

Contract period: 5 months (3 February 2025 until 30 June 2025).

The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager, and will primarily be responsible for performing routine chemical analyses, report results, and recordkeeping of the aforementioned according to the ISO 17025 standard.

Key areas of responsibility will include: *Pre-treatment of samples for analysis *Accurate preparation of standard stock and quality control solutions according to procedures *Ensure calibration and verification checks are performed on laboratory instruments according to schedules and SOPs, and report non-conformities *All recordkeeping to analyses performed *Upkeeping of laboratory hygiene, and housekeeping *All other tasks related to the role.

Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:

• BSc., BTech, or Higher National Diploma with relevant subjects;

• Previous working experience in a Wine Laboratory will be advantageous;

• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);

• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office);

• Valid driver's license & own reliable transport;

• Clear criminal record.
