Our client, a well-established mixed farming business nestled in the scenic Citrusdal area, has the abovementioned vacancy available for a Packhouse Manager with a proven track record in managing a diverse workforce and achieving production targets, to join their team.


The incumbent will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the citrus and stone fruit packing facility. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of packhouse operations.


KPA’s will include: General Management: *Managing all aspects of the packhouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards *Developing and implementing strategies to optimise productivity and efficiency *Monitoring and evaluating performance metrics, adjusting as necessary to meet production targets. Quality Control & Monitoring: *Establishing and maintaining QC procedures *Implementing controls for ongoing monitoring of quality and packaging processes *Conducting inspections and audits. Maintenance & Cleanliness: *Overseeing maintenance and repair of packhouse equipment *Implementing cleaning and sanitation protocols *Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and certifications, such as BRC standards. Team Management: *Leading and supervising a team of packhouse staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback *Effectively manage workforce scheduling to meet production requirements.


Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Post secondary qualification or experience in a related field;

• Familiarity with packhouse technology (including packing equipment and software systems), and practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting in a packhouse setting;

• Excellent communication skills (English & Afrikaans);

• Above-average computer literacy (MS Office);

• Valid driver's license.
