Our client, a premier wine- and hospitality estate based in Somerset West, has a position available for a full-time Bookkeeper with a meticulous and organised approach to accounting work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Compiling and reconciling daily cash ups *Following up discrepancies with Line Managers *Capturing cash ups in accounting system and clear against credit card batch receipts *Ensuring purchase orders and receipts of deliveries are accurately processed on Pastel *Capturing supplier invoices in accounting system, reconcile against creditor statements *Compiling weekly supplier payment batch for release by authorised Financial Manager *Capturing cash receipts and payments to be reconciled by Senior Financial Accountant *Ordering of stationery and other office supplies *Executing stock takes and reconciling with stock levels *All ad hoc financial and other admin functions related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
• Matric required, a tertiary qualification in accounting/finance will be advantageous;
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience together with a degree, OR 10-15 years’ experience with no formal tertiary degree;
• Experience with debtors, creditors and stock control is highly beneficial;
• Relevant experience in the wine- or hospitality industry will be advantageous;
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, Pastel);
• Own reliable transport.
