Our client, Dutoit Agri, based in Ceres, has an exciting opportunity available to join their team as a Product Development Manager. This role will be responsible for establishing, coordinating, developing and implementing a comprehensive fruit product development plan to achieve Dutoit Agri’s strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with different stakeholder groups. Attention to detail, administrative skills, and the ability to plan and coordinate projects are further requirements of the role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: Identifying, evaluating and recommending fruit varieties *Contract management for agreements to which Dutoit has rights and obligations *Liaising and managing of royalties/levies on plant material *Coordinating relevant information regarding fruit varieties to assist in decision-making concerning new plantings *Overseeing and coordination of plant improvement projects *Liaising with relevant industry institutions and nurseries *Administration of centralised database *In-house contact for specific varieties with regards to feedback to marketing department *all other tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• MSc in Horticulture;

• Experience in agricultural economy would be beneficial;

• Strong technical knowledge of fruit varieties and selection processes;

• Excellent computer skills, including the ability to conduct statistical analysis;

• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
