Our client, a prominent family office based at their office in Val de Vie, Paarl, managing a diverse portfolio including property development ventures, agricultural ventures, & financial investments, is seeking an energetic and skilled Accountant to provide support & assist in the effective management of their select clients.
The family office oversees various functions including treasury, accounting, financing, administration, compliance, & multi-generational planning.
This role will assist the Financial Director with diverse administrative & operational tasks. The role includes training & mentorship to handle client administration, financial oversight, farming operations, commercial property management, & compliance. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or someone who completed articles and would like to build a career in private family wealth, financial planning and accounting.
KPI’s will include (but not be limited to): Personal Assistance: Provide administrative support to the Financial Director, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, & handling correspondence *Client Administration: Manage select clients professionally & efficiently *Financial Administration: Assist with treasury functions, financing, & financial reporting, with training for advanced tasks *Data Management: Use advanced Excel skills for financial data organization, analysis, & reporting, *Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory & internal policies, maintain accurate documentation, & support compliance efforts *Travel to & oversee various sites, including farms & properties *Record-keeping, scheduling, & communications *Receive training to progressively assume more complex responsibilities.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with 1-2 years’ relevant experience, OR a degree in Accounting with completed SAIPA/CIMA articles (recent graduates are encouraged to apply);
• Previous work experience at an accounting- or wealth management firm will be advantageous;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel, including data analysis & reporting functions);
• Strong attention to detail & accuracy;
• Valid driver’s license & own reliable transport.
