MECHANIC

Laastedrif Agri (Pty) Ltd., is an established commercial agricultural enterprise, specialising in the cultivation of fresh fruit and vegetables. Laastedrif is based in Ceres and serves a range of local supermarkets as well as international markets.

Laastedrif Agri (Pty) Ltd., currently has the above position at the Laastedrif Production Unit. This position will report directly to the Farm Manager at Laastedrif, and will mainly be responsible for the following key performance areas, namely: *Tractors *Agricultural implements *Pack store machinery *Trucks and vehicles.

Responsibilities include: *Preventive service, maintenance and repair of tractors *Preventive maintenance on pack store implements and vehicles *Stock management pertaining to machinery, equipment and tools *Management of Occupational Health and Safety best practice *Ensuring a clean and tidy work area as well as workshop.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• N2 Mechanical, or similar qualification (qualified diesel/tractor mechanic, auto-electrical can be advantageous);

• Experience of 5 years’ or more (qualification included) in a similar position;

• Mechanical experience with tractors, as well as agricultural and pack store machinery, will be highly advantageous;

• Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks;

• Computer proficiency (MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook);

• Productivity and cost management oriented mindset;

• Good communication and reporting skills;

• Good human and labour relations;

• Willingness to work after hours and weekends, if required;

• Valid driver's license.

Laastedrif Agri (Edms.) Bpk., is ‘n gevestigde, kommersiële landbouonderneming, wat spesialiseer in die verbouing van vars groente en vrugte. Laastedrif is gesetel in Ceres en bedien ‘n reeks plaaslike supermarkte asook buitelandse markte.

Laastedrif Agri (Edms.) Bpk., beskik tans oor die bogenoemde vakante betrekking by die Laastedrif Produksie Eenheid. Hierdie posisie rapporteer direk aan die Laastedrif Plaasbestuurder en is oorhoofs verantwoordelik vir die volgende sleutel prestasie areas nl.: *Trekkers *Landbou implemente *Pakstoor masjinerie *Vragmotors en voertuie.

Verantwoordelikhede sluit in: *Voorkomende diens, instandhouding en herstel van trekkers *Voorkomende onderhoud op pakstoor implemente en voertuie *Voorraad bestuur van masjinerie, toerusting en gereedskap *Bestuur goeie praktyke van Beroepsgesondheid en Veiligheid *Verseker skoon en netjiese werk-area asook werkswinkel.

Noodsaaklike kwalifikasies, vaardighede en ervaring:

• N2 Meganies, of soortgelyke kwalifikasie (gekwalifiseerde diesel/trekker werktuigkundige, outo-elektries kan voordelig wees);

• Ondervinding van 5 jaar of meer (ingesluit kwalifikasie) in ‘n soortgelyke posisie;

• Meganiese ondervinding van trekkers, asook landbou en pakstoor masjinerie, word sterk aanbeveel;

• Sterk vermoë om te beplan, prioritiseer en take af te handel;

• Rekenaarvaardigheid (MS Office, veral Excel en Outlook);

• Produktiwiteits- en kostebestuur geörienteerde ingesteldheid;

• Goeie kommunikasie- en rapporterings eienskappe;

• Goeie mense- en arbeidsverhoudinge;

• Bereidwilligheid om na-ure en naweke, indien benodig, te werk;

• Geldige bestuurderslisensie.
