Our client, a wine wholesale company with their head office based in Stellenbosch, currently has an opportunity for an Export Manager. The incumbent will manage relationships with existing customers, expand distribution, and ensure the profitability of the companies’ brands and services, focusing on Africa & Islands, the Middle East, and Russia.

The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills, with strong analytical abilities and solid project management expertise. They are adaptable to changing market conditions and excel at overseeing multiple initiatives to ensure timely delivery.

The successful candidate will report to the Exports Director, and responsibilities will include: *Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to drive growth and expand product portfolios in key regions *Maintain and strengthen customer relationships, ensure product availability, and manage promotional activities to meet sales targets *Oversee budgets, forecasts, and company assets, ensuring effective account handling and marketing intelligence *Ensure clear communication, effective reporting, and collaboration with key stakeholders and internal teams *Manage relationships with key accounts, trade associations, customers, and internal departments *Provide product training for both on- and off-consumption customers and sales staff *Develop expertise in wine, brand building, merchandising, and customer relations*All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• 5+ Years’ experience in a similar role in the liquor industry (knowledge of wine and brand management is highly desirable);

• In-depth understanding of the Africa & Islands, Middle East, and Russian markets;

• Familiarity with customs regulations, shipping processes, and supply chain management;

• Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer feedback;

• Fluency in spoken and written English;

• Proficiency in one or more languages spoken in the serviced regions will be highly advantageous.
