Meerendal Wine Estate, situated in Durbanville, currently has the following vacancy: Farm Manager This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a strong communicator with outstanding management, planning and technical skills. An appropriate tertiary qualification in agriculture and a minimum of 5-8 years’ practical experience in a similar viticultural position are prerequisites. The candidate must be fluent in English and good wine knowledge will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the Winemaker and the rest of the viticultural team and will report directly to the Owner. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management function and responsibilities include: • vineyard planting • fertilising • disease and pest control • pruning programmes • grape preparation • weed control • personnel management • general administration • budget management • maintenance management (gardens and buildings) • MTB track maintenance • all other tasks related to the position.
