Our client, the well established Groot Constantia Wine Estate, has the abovementioned position available for an energetic and dynamic Assistant Winemaker to assist the Cellar Master with all activities related to the winemaking process. The Assistant Winemaker will report to the Cellar Master and will be responsible for: *all activities relating to harvest *quality control *stock take and procurement *blending and stabilisation of wine *SAWIS administration & compliance with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulations *operations and maintenance of cellar infrastructure *lab analysis and sampling *cellar staff management *cellar hygiene *liaison on wine sales, wine tastings and promotions *general cellar work and all other functions related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg qualification OR similar, with the main interest in Oenology; • At least two completed harvests in a similar position; • Laboratory experience will be advantageous; • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel); *Accommodation on the Estate is included.
