Description:
Our client, LDP Chartered Accountants and Auditors based in the heart of Stellenbosch, is eager to appoint a Tax Compliance Consultant to join their well established Tax Compliance and Consulting department.
As a key member of our TAX Compliance Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate processing of Tax, VAT, and other SARS-related inputs for our diverse clientele. Your expertise will extend to advising and guiding our internal Accounting and Auditing teams, as well as providing expert consultation to clients on various tax matters.
Requirements:
• Registered tax practitioner;
• Degree or diploma in finance and taxation;
• Other relevant tax qualifications will also be considered;
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant tax compliance experience;
• Knowledge of e-filing administration compulsory;
• Computer literate;
• Completed SAIPA articles will be an advantage.
Duties and key responsibilities:
• Complete income tax and provisional tax returns on e-filing based on financial statements and tax computations provided;
• Deal with SARS queries relating to the Income Tax returns submitted;
• Monitor submission of returns to ensure timeous finalisation of work;
• Downloading SARS e-filing correspondence and drafting response where required;
• Any other SARS related task to ensure overall tax compliance;
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in your work;
• Effectively interpreting and applying theoretical knowledge;
• Meeting deadlines and prioritising workload efficiently.
You'll also be involved in:
• Compiling various SARS returns such as withholding tax returns where required;
• Handling reconciliation of assessments, drafting objections and appeals where required;
• Addressing SARS queries;
• Ensuring quality control of corporate returns before submission to SARS.

• Good knowledge and understanding of Income tax compliance regulations;

• Problem solving abilities;
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
• Effective communication at all levels;
• Strong time management abilities;
• Willingness to work under tight deadlines during tax season.
