Accolade Wines South Africa seeks a proactive, bilingual team player for this pivotal position based in Somerset West. In addition to an enthusiastic, self-motivated and analytical work ethic, the candidate envisaged has strong leadership and communication skills, ample initiative and the ability to effectively liaise with key suppliers. Formal requirements include a relevant winemaking qualification, eg. BSc (Agric) Oenology, computer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word essential) and at least 5 years’ hands-on experience in the wine industry. Reporting to the Head Winemaker, the successful candidate will be primary responsible for: • sourcing wines and preparing blends for Fair Trade and certain other bottled and bulk products • cost management of each blend/product • ensuring that wines are prepared and bottled/loaded in specification, in full and on time • quality control of all wines and blends prepared and bottled/loaded • engaging with and hosting customers and potential customers • any other activities related to the sourcing, production and quality control of wine products.
