Southern Fruit Growers, with their head office in Somerset West, is seeking a dynamic and proactive Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement and optimal programme management of table grapes in the various production regions. This role requires strong interpersonal, organisational, planning and commercial skills. This position is critical for ensuring the successful procurement and programme management of table grapes for the SFG group. Duties will include: *Building and maintaining strong relationships with producers *Identification of procurement opportunities *Gathering programme information and specifications from export clients and ensuring compliance to such programmes *Liaison with producers regarding technical and quality specifications *Constant communication with producers, including communication of quality issues and reports, and presenting post season statistics *Planning according to harvest estimates *Coordination of packing programs, pack material and other relevant actions across the value chain *Updating client portals *During the off season, support all other products across the SFG Group *All other tasks related to the role. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Tertiary qualification; • Experience in a similar role with a proven track record of procurement; • Previous exposure in the export fruit industry, with table grape experience being advantageous; • Excellent computer literacy (specifically MS Excel); • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English); • Valid driver’s license essential; • Willingness to travel.
