Our client, a well-established mixed farming business nestled in the scenic Citrusdal area, has the abovementioned vacancy available for a proficient and driven Senior Accountant with a fervent interest in both agriculture and finance, particularly in the realm of cost analysis, to join their team. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing operational expenses, and will collaborate closely with the finance team and operational departments to ensure precise cost reporting, identify avenues for cost reduction, and actively contribute to enhancing the overall profitability of the farming operations. Key responsibilities: *Assist with daily accounting functions for all company accounts and Trusts *Conduct thorough analysis and reporting on the production costs associated with various agricultural products *Monitor and scrutinize operational expenses to pinpoint opportunities for cost optimization *Work collaboratively with operational teams to devise and uphold effective cost control measures *Track and reconcile financial transactions linked to operational costs *Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial reports and statements *Support budgeting and forecasting endeavors pertaining to operational expenses *Furnish management with requisite financial data and reports as necessary *Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments relating to agricultural cost accounting. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; • Experience in a similar role in in the agricultural industry; • Excellent communication skills (English & Afrikaans); • Strong computer literacy (MS Excel & accounting software); • Driver's license and own reliable transport.
