D’Aria Wine Estate in the respected Durbanville wine region seeks to appoint a skilled General Manager to spearhead the expansion of the entire business operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Board, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in harmonizing all business strategies to foster cultural coherence, financial prosperity and visionary team guidance within the organisation. The ideal candidate will assume leadership of the enterprise, having primary accountability for building on the successes of the current vibrant and passionate team. Experience within a wine business would be highly advantageous as well as the skill to build on recent rapid growth. The role will have a primary focus on ensuring the sustainability of the Wine business as core business together with ensuring that the destination and hospitality domains (Tasting Room, Venue D’ Aria, Guest Cottages and third party operated restaurants) are managed optimally. Duties will include but is not limited to: *Provision of strategic and visionary leadership *Development, guidance, and meticulous oversight of all departmental budgets *Establishment and maintenance of an enthusiastic and results-driven team *Identification and thorough evaluation of potential growth opportunities to lead and develop comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at promoting the business *Effective management of overall brand profiles and positioning within the market *Implementation of strategic initiatives focused on expanding the Estate market share, increasing visitor engagement, and optimizing revenue generation *All other General Management and leadership duties required to manage the overall business. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • At least 5 years’ experience in a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), senior management, or senior leadership role in the Hospitality & Agricultural industry; • Degree in Accounting or related management field would be highly beneficial; • Thorough understanding of applicable legislation and corporate management principles; • Proven leadership abilities with the gravitas to represent a premium wine brand; • Exceptional communication skills (Afrikaans & English); • Excellent computer literacy.
