De Grendel Wine Estate, situated in Panorama and facing the beautiful Table Mountain, has a position available for a Tasting Room Manager with extensive wine knowledge and excellent leadership skills to join their team. This exciting position is suited to an energetic individual with a passion for wine and providing exceptional customer service, paired with a drive to exceed sales targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for: *Management of wine hosts (scheduling, salaries, appointments, etc.) *Wine host training *Wines sales *Developing innovative ways of driving sales and increase membership of loyal customers *Presenting exceptional tasting experiences *Representing the brand and presenting off-site tastings *Planning of tasting room events *Maintaining an up to date tasting menu *Compiling and managing tasting room budget *Daily cash-ups and reconciling payment methods *Inventory management *Procurement of merchandise *all other duties relevant to the position. Minimum requirements: • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar managerial role; • Excellent computer proficiency (Advanced MS Excel); • Excellent interpersonal skills (English & Afrikaans); • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle; • Willingness to work holidays and weekends (rotation schedule). Advantageous: • Relevant qualification in wine (WSET level 2/Cape Wine Academy certificate); • Knowledge of EzyWine, Dineplan and Shopify.
