Timberlea Farming Trust, situated in the Stellenbosch area, has a position available for a QA Manager at Timberlea Packhouse (apples, citrus, nectarines & peaches). This role is suited to an individual with strong communication skills (English &Afrikaans) and a meticulous approach to work, that is comfortable analysing and interpreting data. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and be responsible for promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the packhouse. Duties include: *liaison with key retail customers to ensure quality requirements are met *maintain and implement existing quality and compliance systems such as BRC, GlobalGap, HACCP, Siza & Sedex *setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures *setting QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved *defining quality procedures in collaboration with staff of different disciplines *full QA process from intake to dispatch and related reporting *managing product flows *staff management (three online QC personnel) *all other tasks related to the role. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Qualification in Food Technology or related discipline, as well as certification in BRC/GFSI/ISO 22000; • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role in the fruit industry, candidates with experience in the abovementioned fruit areas and exposure working with retail customers will be preferred; • Excellent computer literacy (specifically MS Excel); • Valid driver's license; • Willingness to work after-hours; • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects regularly.
