Habata, one of SA’s leading producers of fresh fruit and vegetables, is expanding their team and has a position available for an individual with experience managing a packhouse workforce, paired with excellent organisational-, time management- and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the fruit packhouses situated in Addo, including: Management of production activities: *Monitoring plant readiness (mechanical & chemical control) *Process packing instructions *Managing the receiving, drenching, & de-greening process *Initiating of tipping, sorting, sizing and sampling *Monitoring packing material stock *Monitoring and reporting on inspections, PPECB, reworks *Monitor packing-related costs *Quality control. Strategic Management Resources: *Equipment *Appropriate staffing and skills *Training and skills transfer *Packhouse processes. Management of ethical processes: *Compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety program *Manage Human Resources *Ensure compliance to the Ethical Audits. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture; • Approximately 3-5 years’ experience in a packhouse management capacity in the fruit industry (citrus preferable); • Knowledge of relevant quality systems; • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Nosoft); • Afrikaans & English (isiXhosa will be highly beneficial); • Valid driver’s license.
