CROP PROTECTION AND MARKET ACCESS SPECIALIST Ceres Fruit Growers, one of the leading fruit packaging and marketing companies in SA, has the above position available for an energetic and professional individual to join their team at their Ceres (Western Cape) offices. The incumbent will report directly to the Manager: Producer Services and be part of adynamic team that aims to maximise producers' revenue potential. Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *management of pest control protocol and MRL’s *liaison with growers on pest control protocol and MRL constraints of different markets/customers *cooperation with chemical representatives and industry bodies regarding compliance with market residue requirements *conducting physical orchard inspections and providing support to growers *collection, interpretation and communication of spray programs and MRL results to clients in collaboration with chemical consultants *handling administration and enquiries relating to customer needs in line with legal requirements. After the candidate has settled into the team, the following tasks may possibly become part of the role: *Coordination of allocated production units (fruit specifications, pool selections, and orchard preparation strategies) *advising producers regarding market needs *advising growers on setting up of spray programs in collaboration with chemical consultants. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Sciences; • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar work environment with excellent fruit knowledge; • Excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English); • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel); • Valid driver's license and reliable own transport. Advantageous: • Experience in Entomology or Horticulture within the pome fruit Industry; • Successful completion of AVCASA training. Noodsaaklike kwalifikasies, vaardighede en ervaring: • Naskoolse kwalifikasie in Landbou Wetenskappe; • Minimum 3 jaar ondervinding in ‘n soortgelyke werksomgewing met uitstekende vrugkennis; • Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede (Afrikaans en Engels); • Goeie rekenaargeletterdheid (MS Office, spesifiek Excel); • Geldige bestuurderslisensie en eie betroubare vervoer.
