Our client, Môreson Grondverskuiwers, a leading earthmoving company in Robertson who mainly operates in the secondary agricultural industry, offers an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, energetic and self-motivated individual, who is calm and reasonable in a high pressured environment. The successful candidate will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for (but not limited to): *Manage the scheduling of the machine fleet and operators to ensure optimal utilization *Scheduling the transporting of machines to achieve the above optimal utilization *Daily management and record keeping of additional equipment connected to the earthmoving machines *Ensure optimal availability of vehicles, trucks and "lowbed wagons" *Overall management of logistics personnel including scheduling of work, overtime, motivation, productivity and application of discipline *Reporting of mechanical breakdowns *Administrative tasks such as updating vehicle licenses, obtaining permits, checking vehicle log-books, vehicle movement and allocating machine hours *All other tasks related tot his position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Relevant tertiary qualification is essential, logistics management qualification will be advantageous; • At least 5-8 years' experience in a similar position, with specific knowledge of scheduling, managing workflows and staff management; • Well developed and proven skills in planning, problem solving, conflict management, communication and negotiation; • Basic knowledge of earthmoving work and the utilization of machines, or knowledge in the heavy vehicle industry would be advantageous; • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English); • Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel required); • Own reliable transport.
