Namaqua Wines, based in Vredendal, currently has a position available for a dynamic Junior Winemaker to join their team. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English) and the ability to perform well in both team context and individually. The Junior Winemaker will report to the Cellar Master/Winemakers and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *blending and stabilisation of wine *support harvest activities *quality control and cellar hygiene *inventory management *wine cellar administration and record keeping *assist winemakers with overall production of wine *supervision of the correct use of cellar equipment, chemicals and winemaking process *receiving of chemical stock *managing and maintenance of cellar equipment *all other functions related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg Qualification or similar; • At least 1-2 harvests completed within a larger ton cellar; • Excellent computer proficiency (EzyWine/Wine MS); • Reliable own transport with valid driver’s license; • Willingness to work overtime when required, especially during harvest season.
