NUY Winery, situated just outside of Worcestor in the scenic NUY Valley, has an exciting opportunity for a well-experienced Winemaker with an excellent winemaking track record, strong Leadership skills and the ability to lead the cellar operational team in producing world class, award-winning bulk and bottle wines. This position of Cellar Master will report to the CEO and will be the supporting the execution of the vision through production of wines. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and will be responsible for: *the full winemaking process with the Cellar team (red, whites, fortified, MCC, bulk and bottle etc.) *ensuring cellar compliance with relevant quality standards (FSSC22000, ISO, HACCP,BRC), accreditations/certifications (IPW, SAWIS), and ethical audits (WIETA) *overall management of the winemaking function, including coordination of harvest activities, vinification, blending, bottling, labeling, and inventory management *cellar hygiene and health & safety requirements *liaison with suppliers, wine buyers and clients *cellar staff management *marketing activities (presenting wine tastings, attending wine shows, etc.) *delivery of cellar budget controls *industry involvement on various related forums *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • A relevant qualification in Viticulture and Oenology; • At least 10 years’ managerial winemaking experience; • Experience as a Seasoned Winemaker both bulk and bottle will be advantageous; • A proven track-record with previous award-winning wines will be beneficial; • Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel required, Pastel beneficial); • Experience in the wine industry & SAWIS will be to the candidate's advantage.
