Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer in Embedded Software, available at their new branch based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will bean analytical thinker with an out-of-the-box mindset. This position is broad, varied, independent and responsible for developing new and improving systems, also focusing on new application areas. The incumbent will report directly to the R&D Manager and will form part of a professional and enthusiastic R&D Engineering team (9FTE), consisting of an R&D Manager, Mechanical and Systems Engineer, Technology Manager and a Homologation Engineer. Duties include (but not limited to): *design and development of embedded system architecture to promote modular and maintainable software *development of the embedded software of the systems within the vehicle *management and documentation of embedded software designs *testing of developed systems against set requirements and applicable guidelines, both internally and externally *managing and supervising GINAF employees and third-party employees during testing*commissioning of systems on vehicles on site *all other tasks related to this position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Relevant Engineering degree; • Minimum 2 years' experience, preferably in an automotive/manufacturing environment; • Good knowledge of programming language C, C++ and Codesys; • Knowledge of functional safety; • Willingness to travel internationally.
