Rust en Vrede Wine Estate, situated in the Stellenbosch area, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate is an analytical individual with a systematic approach to work, as well as the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Director and will be responsible for the following: *bookkeeping up to balance sheet *month end closure procedures *reconciliation of all intergroup loan accounts *monthly VAT201 & EMP201 reconciliation and submission *EMP501reconciliation and submission *monthly payroll on Simplepay *year-end closure, preparing the annual audit file and resolving audit queries *upkeep of the fixed asset register *monthly creditors reconciliations *bank reconciliations *loading payments for release *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • BCom Accounting degree or similar tertiary qualification; • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position; • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English); • Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel required, Xero Accounting beneficial); • Experience in the wine industry will be to the candidate's advantage.
