Our client, an engineering company based in Paarl, is seeking to appoint a Junior Civil Engineering Draftsman with the ability to work in a high pressure environment and meet deadlines, to join their team. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a willingness to learn, and wanting to further their career and growth within the engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *liaising with engineers to gather civil engineering requirements and designs *calculate quantities and set up basic Bill of Quantities *create detailed designs and drawings with computer-aided design (CAD) software with the assistance of engineers *conducting site inspections and reporting back to the engineers *liaising with council representatives to set up inspections etc. *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Technical Diploma, equivalent qualification, OR relevant experience; • 1-2 years experience as a Draftsman in Civil Engineering environment or similar role; • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCad, AllyCad or Civil Designer); • Candidates preferably to reside in Paarl or surrounding areas; • Excellent numerical & interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English); • Driver's license and own reliable transport.
