Our client, Kromco (Pty) Ltd, situated in Grabouw, is one of the major role players in the pome fruit industry and has the above-mentioned position available for a dynamic and energetic Packhouse Foreman to join their production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for: *Production Planning: ensure that fruit per packing line is scheduled according to a packing program *Production Objectives: plan, organize and manage employees per packing line *Quality Management: focus on the sorting of fruit by making sure the right quality fruit ends up in the right grade as per sorting specifications *Personnel Management: address enquiries promptly and assist in identifying training needs of employees in your team *Financial Management: assist with cost management of the Packhouse budget *Equipment Management: liaise with the engineering department by providing accurate and timely information regarding equipment *Audit Compliance: ensure that Packhouse Documentation and working methods comply with BRC Standard *Innovative thinking that focuses on systems, processes and working methods to ensure continuous improvement *all other tasks related to the role. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations or Production Management; • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production/Packhouse environment, 2 of which in a supervisory/management capacity; • Knowledge and understanding of fruit quality standards, customer specification packing material and packing machinery; • Excellent Computer literacy (MS Office).
