Our client, a global company operating in the fruit industry and situated in Paarl, is looking for an onsite Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with excellent problem-solving skills paired with a quality and detail-orientation. Financial acumen, with strong verbal and written communication skills are further requirements. Reporting to the Financial Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: *staff management *ensuring financial- and regulatory compliance (SARS, Department of Labour, Insurance, Banks etc.) *managing financial and system controls *monthly journals *VAT reconciliations *full debtors function *processing of creditors invoices and ensuring accurate cost allocations *month-end processing and journaling *stock and cost of sales management and related reporting *liaison with auditors *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Degree in Accounting or similar field; • Completed CIMA articles highly advantageous; • Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting role, preferably in the agricultural industry; • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Excel Advanced required, SAP & Docuware knowledge advantageous); • Own reliable transport.
