The ideal candidate has proven success in identifying and developing strategic commercial opportunities through engaging with industry at various levels. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Strategic Director will primarily be responsible for developing the strategic goals of uniWines through various business expansion and development activities, thereby establishing a lasting long-term benefit for all stakeholders. The Strategic Director takes accountability for the overall profitability of uniWines to the benefit of its producers, shareholders, and personnel. Expected outcomes will include: *Develop strategic goals for uniWines to achieve the mandate provided *Identify and develop new business ventures to ensure long term sustainability *Create and manage the organisational environment for the sustainable achievement of goals *Build and maintain client relationships *Business reporting *all other tasks associated with the role. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: • Relevant postgraduate qualification – MBA or similar; • At least 15 years’ experience in the wine industry, 10 of which in a senior management role; • Proven success in identifying and developing business opportunities; • Knowledge of relevant, applicable industry legislation and regulations; • Knowledge of business, operational, production and financial management.
