Cavalli Wine Estate, situated in the Somerset West, is actively recruiting for a Winemaker to lead their team and take responsibility for the production function of world renowned premium wines. The successful candidate is an excellent team leader with strong technical and managerial skills, must deliver on strategic and quality objectives of the cellar and vineyard. Passion, energy and the ability to inspire through wine is vital. The successful candidate will lead a small team and be responsible for: *overseeing the vineyards in cooperation with expert consultants *marketing, public relations, and other brand building functions *overall management of the winemaking function, including coordination of harvest activities, vinification, blending, bottling, labeling, and inventory management *SAWIS *IPW *inventory management *health & safety requirements *personnel management *liaison with clients and suppliers *marketing activities (presenting wine tastings, attending wine shows, etc.) *all other tasks related to the role. Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience: • Tertiary qualification in Viticulture and Oenology or similar; • Minimum 10 years' winemaking experience in a similar senior role; • Willingness to travel and work hours as per wine industry requirements.
